DIGITAL PHOTOS:
- Digital pictures should have been taken at the highest resolution setting, and should be saved in jpeg format. Please do not reduce the picture or the file size before sending them. It may be necessary to send the photos in several different emails.
35MM PRINTS:
- Do NOT scan your picture. This has to be an original print, not a reproduction (i.e. you scanned it in and then printed it out on a photo printer).
- If your processed prints come with a CD, please send a copy of the CD and include a note identifying which photos are being submitted and include the requested identifying information as noted above.
- Reprints should be made from negatives rather than scanned photos that are commonly made by the photo reprint machines. It is suggested that you send a copy since previously some photos have been damaged in the mail.
- Pictures will be returned at the completion of the project, if a SASE was included with the submission.
PICTURE COMPOSITION:
- All pictures have to be in color.
- Photos may be submitted in landscape or portrait configurations.
- Picture should be in focus (needless to say), uncluttered, no red-eyes.
- Picture preferably taken at dog's eye level.
- Pictures can be close-ups of head or body shots.
- Please do not include people unless necessary as part of the activity.
- We are looking for a wide variety in subject matter i.e. playing, nature settings, herding, obedience, agility, Schutzhund [no bite photos please], tracking, SAR, etc.
- Dogs don't have to be centered in a picture in order for a picture to be well composed. They also don't have to be close-ups, as long as the dog(s) is/are clearly visible and balanced with the surroundings (i.e. a dog herding).
