We currently have two dogs in need of a home
Hoot is ready for adoption!
Age: 4 years
Gender: Male, neutered
Kids: Good with children, although we are recommending a home with kids 10 or older
Cats: Sniffs politely, no barking or chasing
Dogs: Excellent with other dogs
Location: Washington State
The Good: This is a sweet dog! Everyone who has met him has reported the same thing, this is one of the most snuggly, good natured, lovey dogs they have ever met! He walks well on a leash and has basic manners. He is crate trained and housebroken. Rides well in the car and is friendly, even to strangers.
The Bad: Hoot has minor arthritis in his hips. We started him on carprofen and it has helped him greatly. It cost about $30 for a months supply. He doesn't walk with a limp or anything, but isn't a good candidate for a performance home. This is also why we are recommending a home with older children. He has never shown any aggression towards kids, but we wouldn't want a little one to fall on him and hurt him. Hoot has a scar on his back hip from self mutilation. Despite being good in a crate he does NOT do well in a kennel
Overall: This boy could make the perfect "starter" Beauceron for someone. He is such an easygoing mellow fellow! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have
Artemis is ready for adoption!
Age: 10 months
Gender: Female, spayed
Kids: Good with kids, but she is a bouncy puppy, we are advising older children
Cats: Interested in them, but doesn't chase
Dogs: Gets along really well with other dogs Location: Washington State
The Good: Artemis is a sweet, friendly puppy. She is housebroken and good in the crate. She is a super snuggly puppy, she wants to be up on the couch with you!
The Bad: Artemis had very inconsistent training in her previous home, she will need help from her new family learning manners. She is a very bouncy, happy, mouthy puppy. All typical for a young Beauceron, but it will need to be addressed by her new family.
Overall: She is a great dog and will be a wonderful family member for someone willing to put the time and training into a young pup!
Occasionally, through no fault of their own, a few Beaucerons will end up in Rescue. The ABC is committed to making sure these dogs find appropriate, permanent and loving homes.
